Recent Melrose Area LAPD Checkpoint Yields Arrests

Here is follow up data from the recent LAPD Checkpoint conducted on North Bound Fairfax Avenue just south of Melrose Ave. on January 8th, 2010.The results were as follows..

There were 9 arrests for DUI (Driving Under The Influence or also known as DWI - Driving While Intoxicated in other states)

There were 13 Impounds with 7 impounds for driver arrested and 6 for unlicensed drivers.

"The traffic flow was fairly heavy throughout most of the detail but tapered off toward the end.

2885 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 904 vehicles were screened. LAPD had 16 possible DUI suspects that were "low blows" and, therefore, released. So in a sense 25 possible DUI's that resulted in 9 arrests for the night.

Far Left Idiot!

"I feel so much safer after giving up my constitutional rights. Someday maybe we can have police checkpoints on every corner!"

Ya...and maybe we can live in a crazy Moonbat world where everyone can do what they want when they want with no rules whatsoever. Move to SF where unfortunately the asylum has already been taken over by the inmates!

Hmm....

I feel so much safer after giving up my constitutional rights. Someday maybe we can have police checkpoints on every corner!

Grow up

You don't have a constitutional right to drive while drunk out of your mind or stoned on drugs. Grow up and stop talking like a spoiled adolescent.

Keep it up

Yes, please keep it up. There are so many crazy reckless drivers in this neighborhood, and I'm sure many of them are drunk, or stoned from the pot stores that have sprouted like weeds around here. We have lots of pedestrians, including the Orthodox community who MUST walk on the Sabbath. We need to be protected from drunk/stoned drivers.

Let's Do It Again Soon!

Thanks LAPD. I Hope I see You All Back Out There Doing This Again Real Soon!!
