Well Known Melrose Restauranteur Arrested In Connection With Death of Own Unborn Child - New Details Emerge

Stunning new details have emerged in the LAPD's homicide investigation accusing well known Melrose restaurant owner Josh Woodward of murder in the death of his girlfriends unborn child.

soulofamericaWoodward who is partnered in area restaurant "8 oz. Burger Bar" located at 7661 Melrose Avenue was first arrested for suspicion of murder on October 25th by Wilshire LAPD Homicide Detectives.

According to an affidavit obtained by celebrity website TMZ, apparently Woodward's girlfriend suffered a sudden miscarriage that followed sexual relations between the couple. During those relations Woodward is said to have repeatedly placed his hand into a plastic bag containing a powdered substance then proceeded to touch her sexually. Just a few hours after the encounter the girlfriend miscarried the baby.

The girlfriend told police she remembers seeing a white powdery substance on her underwear following the relations. LAPD detectives think the powder used is called Misoprostol - often used for causing early term abortions.

Police Set Up a Sting To Catch Woodward Once the girlfriend suspected Woodward was the cause of her miscarriage and she went to the police, detectives, who where aware that Woodward did not yet know of the miscarriage, convinced the woman to call Woodward and tell him she was still pregnant and to come over to her place. Police were waiting outside of her apartment when the suspect approached. When confronted by officers and detectives Woodward pulled out a "small piece of clear plastic with a white powdery substance" from his pocket and dropped it to the ground.. The evidence was collected and Woodward would not identify the substance. A sample was sent to a lab for testing.

While Woodward was booked for suspicion of murder on October 25th after he was arrested, he has since been released due to a lack of evidence at this time. However detectives are said to be determined to build a case with the help of the DA.

Melrose Action contacted a legal expert to comment on the case who said that murder charges are unlikely to be filed since the miscarriage happened prior to the third trimester. The fetus has since been identified as being just 13 weeks old.
