Neighbors Not Happy As Another Sober Living Facility Planned for Stanley Avenue
A neighbor who asked their name not be used wrote into Melrose Action with the following... "There are plans for yet another Sober Facility at 729 Stanley in order to expand the current facility located at 725 Stanley Avenue. That would be TWO in one block literally next to each other. This is horrendous and must be stopped. I heard that the same owner of 725 Stanley is behind the purchase of 729."

2,433 DUI Arrests in LA County in 17 days!
The 2011/12 Winter Holiday DUI Mobilization crackdown on drinking drivers has ended and resulted in a significant number of DUI arrests from the Sobriety Checkpoints, Special Saturation Patrols and routine patrols in the Los Angeles County "Avoid the 100 " DUI Campaign for the past 17 days.
Chipotle Coming To La Brea and Melrose
The ever expanding mexican fresh fare restaurant "it" chain Chipotle has acquired the former Conroy's Flower shop location at the northwest corner of Melrose and La Brea Avenue. This new location is said to be opening in early Spring 2012. More changes at that intersection as the Chevron gas station is poised to close and later be demolished in favor of more retail stores.
Village Idiot Set to Expand - New Location
The buzz around the area is that the Village Idiot Pub located at the corner of Melrose and Martel Ave. is set to open two other locations. We hear the Idiot #2 will be in Silverlake in a space occupied by or next to the gay bar Le Barcito at 3909 Sunset Blvd. The other location is said to be on 3rd Street near Beverly Center.
Apparently LA Eater hears the same thing.. Hmmm.
Residential Care Facility Seeks To Open, Asks for 11 bed Operation On Sierra Bonita
It seems an application to operate a residential care facility on N. Sierra Bonita Avenue has been filed with the City of Los Angeles.
